Hello, Wittykitty here. Welcome to my blog. Little did I know that there would come a time in my life when I would outlive my usefulness. I love teaching English to tenth-graders, but as Fate would have it, that is a world that no longer wants or needs me. Today, school systems want young and cutting edge. Motivated. Well, I'm motivated, but let's face it. When it comes to young, that ship has sailed. Therefore, with teaching no longer an option, I'm doing what I have done all of my life: writing. You can't be too old to write, right?

 

I had always considered writing a hobby, but was told a few years ago that teaching should be my hobby and writing should be my profession. Well, I guess writing is my profession. Now, I write what it takes to pay the bills while exploring my own world; the undiscovered world that has always been placed on the back burner while I worked to make a living. Life is an adventure … and the adventure continues. There's no telling what you'll find in the mail.

Many times through death or divorce, Life can end up a meager , single, solitary existence. I realize that the end of a teaching career is not the end of the road. I no longer rail against the stigma to join a community that no longer wants or needs me. Feel free to follow along as I explore my undiscovered world. You might even want to discover your own, too! Just because you're over sixty doesn't mean it's over.
